What’s Pigilicious you ask?
Well… several
years back it started as a “small” end of the year blowout for the faculty
and staff at DSA. Over the years it has grown to become an event with
DSA faculty staff, to music teachers from throughout Polk County, to friends
and friends of friends from throughout the state of Florida and beyond.
What’s for
dinner…
We started with
a mere 40lbs of chicken… to a 40lbs of chicken and 40lbs of ribs… to a whole
100lb pig… to 500 ears of corn to this year’s event where we will have…
a 200 + lb hog,
150lb of ribs, 100 + lbs of chicken quarter, 500 ears of corn, and additional
sides.

Please
feel free to bring friends with you. The more the
merrier. No worries there will be plenty to go around!!

Folding Chair… Do you have folding camp style chair? If so,
bring with you. If you do not have one, don’t worry, we will have
chairs… but extras sure will be nice!!!

This year we have
decided to include side dishes to ensure that we do not run out for all
guests. If you would like to bring something for dinner here are a few
ideas
o
Desert
o
Bread
o
“Beverage” of your choice. We will have something for
everyone… but it would be helpful if you could bring more. Just find a
cooler when you arrive.. there will be many all over.
o
Contributions are always welcome and appreciated.. .we will have a “piggy bank”
or 2. As you can imagine this event has grown and there are a few
expenses
o Do you play an instrument? ..if so, bring it…Occasionally, there have been jam sessions that come to life with the party. Usually these happen on the latter half of the evening. As a party by musicians, you never know who may show up and get crazy with some music…. It is not official… but there is a slight possibility of some live salsa this year…..hmmm.. sound like a good time? .. bring your dancing shoes…
T-Shirts… yea
you heard that right.. we don’t mess around… this event has reached a point
where you won’t want to leave without your Pigilicious t-shirt. If you
got a shirt last year… don’t worry… not only are they different… but they are
way better…. The exact cost will be determined by the number of shirts ordered.
All proceeds are poured straight back into the event. NO ONE is making
a buck off of the shirts or the party… it’s all in good fun…. I am sure you
will not want to miss out!! Order now by e-mailing endoftheyearblowout@pigilicious.com. Please Specify your Shirt size and quantity: Adult Small, Adult
Medium, Adult Large, Adult Medium, Adult Large, Adult XLarge, Adult XXLarge,
Adult XXXLarge, etc. Be sure to preorder. We will order a few
extras… but last year the extras flew within 30 minutes!!!
Along that line… there will be a limited number of hats that will be available by advanced order only… the shirts are PG… ummmm… well .. I am not so sure about the hats…. You may want to ask me about them first!!!
Parking/Tram …it’s true that we may not be Disney… but we do provide a
heck of a parking and tram ride experience. . . it’s all most like a
rural hay ride.. you will surely want to be a part of this
ride!!! … don’t forget where you parked… you may want to write
down which lot you parked… Potbelly 1 – 50, Porkchop 51 – 100, Baconator 101
– 150, etc.
Hotel …If you
are traveling from out of town.. I have provided a brief list of some of the local hotels… I am sure I missed a couple but these are sure to get
you close.
Taxi If you are staying nearby…there are a few of the local cab companies
listed on the website.
